Deep in the heart of Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire, the 600 million year-old granite rock and fossil formations are held to be among the oldest on the planet.

The Bomb Rock seen here is Precambrian volcanic outcrop at Charnwood Lodge.

Many of Margaret's hand-coiled and sculpted pieces continue to be inspired by the ancient rocky outcrops near her childhood home.

Using a variety of clays with copper oxide, applied for the second kiln firing, adds further abstract surface design to these robust art pieces all linking back to Charnwood.
